I．PROGRAMS（项目介绍）

 ·Non-Degree education: Chinese language learning

 ·Degree education: bachelor's degree

(obtain compulsory credits, learning certificate.)

Beginners level: Chinese pinyin, introduction to Chinese, elementary listening, elementary speaking, Chinese reading, Chinese character reading and writing.

Medium level: Chinese, listening, speaking, reading, Chinese writing.

Advanced level: Chinese, advanced Chinese speaking, social culture, newspaper reading, Chinese writing.

Elective courses: Chinese culture, Chinese calligraphy, elementary ancient prose, business Chinese, literature reading, Chinese history, Chinese customs, Chinese teaism, Kung Fu.

 

4 years, obtain compulsory credits, graduation certificate and bachelor’s degree. There are 3 specialties: Chinese Language and Literature( Liberal arts), Tourism Management(Management), International Economy and Trade( Economics).

 

(Note: If less than 15 international students enroll on a major, there will not be a separate class for international students, the international students will join Chinese classes.)

 

Terms: There are 2 terms: one spring term, and one autumn term. Generally, the autumn term lasts from September to January, and the spring term lasts from February to June. Every year has 2 vacations. Summer vacation lasts for 2 months but winter vacation lasts for 4 weeks, along with Chinese New Year.

 

II．ENTRY REQUIREMENTS（申请资格）

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport and in good health. Applicants must at least have a high school diploma and be aged from 18 to 25.

 

III．APPLICATION DATE（申请时间）

Application Opening Date: May 20th, 2016.

Application Deadline: August 20th, 2016. (application materials must be sent to the email address before August 20th).

 

IV.APPLICATION PROCEDURES（申请流程）

Fill in the Application Form for International Students at Hunan University of Science and Engineering. The form is available on http://www.huse.cn/upload/resources/gjjlc/download.asp

 

For those who wish to study a bachelor’s degree, notarized highest degree (certificate), transcript, graduation certificate in English or Chinese are necessary.

 

Attach the above-mentioned scanned copies and send them to office emails.

 

The office will send the admission letter if documents are satisfactory. Then students must prepare for visa application. Students are required to confirm the day of arrival so that the college can make arrangements to pick them up.

Students need to bring all the required authentic documents.

 

Students can do the medical checkup in Guilin or Changsha.

 

V.FEES AND EXPENSES（学费及相关费用）

Chinese language learning program: 4000 CNY/year

Bachelor’s degree program: 8000 CNY/year (disciplines:Liberal arts, Management, Economics)

2-bed room: 2,000 CNY/term/person

Average cost of 1,500 CNY/month/person

Other fees apply (including physical examination fee, residence permit application fee, insurance expenses, textbook fee) charged in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Chinese government and school.

VII.Brief introduction of HUSE（学校介绍）

    Hunan University of Science and Engineering （HUSE）is a public full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and administrated by Hunan Education Department. Founded in 1941 as the former Hunan No.7 Teachers’ Training School, it was upgraded to be Lingling College in 2002. The new name HUSE was officially granted and announced to the public in 2004. After more than 70 years of development, HUSE has become a science and engineering centered multidisciplinary comprehensive university with local features.

    Covering an area of 763,000 square meters, HUSE is located in the historical and cultural city of Yongzhou, Hunan, P.R.China. The campus has a built-up area of over 450,000 square meters. The library has a collection of more than 903,000 volumes. The worth of the teaching instruments totals more than 130,000,000 RMB and of the fixed assets more than 570,000,000 RMB. Covered with verdant trees, HUSE is regarded as an ideal place to study with a beautiful environment.

At present, HUSE has a full-time enrollment of over 14,000 students, plus more than 4000 students of adult-education. It now has 12 colleges, with 3 provincial disciplines for priority investment and construction, and 43 undergraduate programs. There are 1080 faculty and staff members in HUSE, among whom 742 are full-time teachers, including 78 professors and 192 associate professors. Among the teachers, 53 hold Ph.D degrees and 595 hold master’s degrees, 5 have been awarded the title of “Academic Leader of Hunan Province”, and 7 have been awarded the title of “New Century Excellent Talent”.

Presently HUSE has established good cooperative relationships with more than 15 universities and academic institutions in Asia, Europe, the Americas and is playing an active role in international exchange and cooperation. HUSE sends more than 40 students to study abroad annually.
